BUS STOP
Dan Neville, TD, recently contacted Bus Eireann regarding the re-location of the present bus stop in Rathkeale from the Deel Bridge to the Square. Elderly people who live at the other end of town find it very hard to get to the bus stop at the bridge and have requested the re-location of same. Bus Eireann said “Bus stops are located at the most suitable points possible having due regard to safety and in this respect have to be sanctioned by the Gardai and the Local Authority. The previous bus stop was located at the junction of New Line and Main Street and this location was considered unsuitable from a traffic management point of view. Limerick County Council, therefore, identified a more suitable site nearer to the river Deel Bridge on lower Main Street where the street is quite wide and more practical for buses to pull in and out in safety there.”
