St. Mary’s Athletic Club-

Our under 12 relay team went to Tullamore for the Ireland finals last Saturday. The panel consisted of Tara Coleman, Maeve Power, Chloe Mullins, Sara Enright, Claire English and Kate Geary. The girls knew it would be very competitive and it proved to be. In the semi-final the girls tried their heart out and finished fifth and as it goes on time they got through by the skin of their teeth. In the final it was always going to be an uphill battle but once again they gave their best and just finished outside the medals. These girls hold the indoor Munster and All Ireland titles. Their team are still only 10 years old so the future looks bright. If they maintain the training and commitment they will do well in the community finals in Athlone. I would like to thank Yvonne, Kathleen And Jacinta for the coaching and for the work they put in and to all the parents for travelling to Tullamore. Keep your heads up girls Athlone is just around the corner.
