Rathkeale Notes 17th July

Community Council Card Results-

1st Prize winners were Marie, Betty Kerins, Vinnie Wrenn and John Fitzgibbon. Table prize winners were Mary Barrett, Nora Dore, Mick Neville and Maureen O’Shea.

Raffle prize winners were €40 for Mary Bennett, €20 for Betty Kerins, €10 for John O’Shea and €10 for Maureen O’Shea. The cards committee together with the players extend sympathy to the family, relatives and friends on the death of Mrs. Braddish, Moig, Askeaton, Co. Limerick .

Ahern and Lenihan Wedding-

The wedding between Anna- Marie Ahern daughter of Mike and Maurice Lenihan, Ballingarr and Heavenly Touch, Rathkeale and Maurice Lenihan son of the late Patsy and Alice Lenihan, Croagh was held on Saturday last. The celebrant of the nuptial mass was Fr. Dane Lane; the best man was Mark Bennett, with Philip Ruttle, Alan Canty and Mark Liston as groomsmen. Chief bridesmaid was Eibhlis Ahern sister of the bride; bridesmaids were Kay O’Connor, Katie Collins and Bridget O’Sullivan. Solist was Emily accompanied by Mike Murphy the reception was held at Rathkeale House Hotel with ‘the news’ providing the music. Anna and Maurice wished health, happiness and longevity.
Congratulations and best wishes to noel and Triona Sexton, Rathkeale and Knockaderry on the birth of their son Kevin a brother for Aine and Niamh.

Best wishes to Nora Lawlor and John Leahy whose son Aaron was baptised by Fr. Willie Russell C.C. in St. Mary’s Church, Rathkeale on Saturday last. The godparents were Mary Kiely and Edward Leahy. The christening party was held in the Silver Dollar Bar, Newcastle West, with D.J. Sharon providing the disco music.

Youth 2000 Summer Festival-

Clonmacnoise, Co. Offaly from August 13th – 16th 2009: For the young people aged 16-35 years of age. This is an opportunity not to be missed to experience the Catholic faith and meet new friends. Newcastle West Agricultural Show-
