VARIETY CONCERT
Variety Concert in Adare Parish Church on
Sunday, November 8 at 7pm featuring the
Holy Trinity Abbey choirs and visiting musicians
and singers together with the launch of
Adare parish Christmas cards. All proceeds in
aid of the church restoration fund.

60TH BIRTHDAY
Best wishes to Kathleen O’Sullivan-Briody
whose daughter Sharon and sister Joan surprised
her with a 60th birthday party in
Joan’s house recently. Kathleen’s sons Mark,
Thomas and Liam who flew home specially
from America, daughter Sharon, sisters Joan
and Dymphna, brother Billy, relatives and
friends helped her celebrate her 60th birthday.

SYMPATHY
Sincere sympathy is extended to sons Larry,
Gerry and Sean, daughters Margaret, Joan,
Sheila, Brid and Helen, sisters, grandchildren,
relatives and friends on the death of Mary
Mulcaire recently.
May she rest in peace.

PURGATORIAL ENVELOPES
Each priest offers fifteen Masses each year
for the deceased relatives and friends of
members of the purgatorial society. In this
parish these Masses are offered at 9.30am
and 7.30pm on November 2, 3, 6 and 9 and on
each First Friday of the year.

DANCE
Anyone interested in attending the 25th annual
charity dance in aid of Milford Hospice run
by N.C.W. and District Friends of Milford
Hospice, should attend the Devon Inn Hotel, Templeglantine on Friday,
November 20. Music by James O’Callaghan, tickets b5.

COMMUNITY COUNCIL
THE meeting room in Rathkeale House Hotel was packed to capacity
for the AGM of Rathkeale Community Council. Officers elected were:
with one new position, Honorary Life President, Michael Brosnan;
President, Canon Dempsey PP; vice president, Fr Willie Russell CC;
chairman, Noel White; vice chairman, Richard Naughton; secretary,
Aoife Kiely; assistant secretary, Padraig Feehan; treasurer, John
Dinnage; assistant treasurer, Con Horan; PRO, Pat Coleman; assistant
PRO, David Noonan; Ml. Brosnan was elected to the new post of
Honorary Life President.
Noel White, who stated that he was retiring was re-elected chairman,
now known as the comeback kid, he is a very popular person, as is
John Dinnage who was re-elected treasurer for at least the 15th time.
Aoife Kiely will make a most efficient secretary as will the new PRO,
Pat Coleman. Now the big job begins for this new vibrant committee.

WEDDING BELLS
Best wishes to Brenda Geary, daughter of Brian and Margaret Geary,
Brian Geary Car Sales, Rathkeale and Ken Dowling son of Paddy and
Betty Dowling, Codybrown who were married on October 2. Both of
you are wished health, happiness and longevity.

ATHLETICS
St. Mary’s AC, training Thursday at 7pm in Astro turf pitch in soccer
field and on Sunday at 11am in St. Mary’s Park.
Munster uneven ages Cross country takes place next Sunday,
November 8, Tralee racecourse at noon.
County Indoor championships takes place in Nenagh on Saturday,
November 14, at 11am.

GRADUATION
Congratulations to Antoinette Sheahan, daughter of Mary and Bernie
Sheahan, St. Mary’s Park, Rathkeale who graduated recently from
Limerick Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Arts Honours
Degree in Applied Social Studies.
Congratulations to Frank and May Markham, West End, Rathkale who
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends
recently. Here’s to another 50 years.
Congratulations to Brian Wilmott, whose greyhound Gifted Hero won
the Treaty Cup in Limerick at the weekend.
